One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Celebrate the Seasons With Traditions

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Wednesday Wisdom: Be Open to Opportunities (my recent commercial)

There was an episode in "Sex and the City" where Carrie Bradshaw was asked to be a guest star in a runway fashion show. She was nervous because she classified herself as a writer. However, in one scene, Samantha looked at her and exclaimed, "You're a model!" Carrie believed it for about a minute. Then, when her time came to walk the runway, she fell on her face in front of everyone. Most days, I feel as if I am one step away from that kind of scene.


That said, last Fall my husband and I got the opportunity to appear in a print ad for Howard Hanna. Because they liked it so much they asked us to appear in a commercial. We filmed in a couple of months ago. I just learned that it is airing now. They paid us to do both. So...does this mean that I am a real model? Nah. However, I did have a lot of fun!

People have asked me how did this happen. Truthfully, I responded to an email, took some test photos, and the rest is history. I always wanted to do some modeling. Now, I that I have I realize that it is even MORE fun than I thought it would be! I don't know if this is the start of more gigs or if this was just a lark. What I do know is that I am glad that I responded to that email...
