A Working Mom's Secret to Success on Valentine's Day: Manage Expectations...

Lady celebrating Valentine's Day at Eddie V's "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance." - Oscar Wilde  Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. The roots of Valentine’s Day roots go back to St. Valentine, a priest in the early Christian Church known for his compassion and commitment to love. He was a defender of faith, hope, and kindness, reminding us that love is not just a feeling—it’s an action. And, this year I have learned that being free on Valentine's Day is better than living a lie. Valentine's Day, like Christmas, comes every year. However, unlike Christmas, Valentine's Day is about romantic love an...

A Peek Into the Life of a Blogger Mom: Just Another Sunday Afteroon

Here's our second video blogging venture.  Despite what you might think, I wear makeup and the toddler has more than one shirt!

Because I am technically challenged, for some reason it became harder for me to make the video this week than last week.  I lost the webcam icon on my computer and can't find it when I search for it on my computer.  Instead, I had to access the movie maker computer application on my Toshiba and make a video that way. It was a little more challenging but I did get the job done.

If I can figure out how to position my iPad and delay taping so you don't see me turning record on and off I'll start recording with the iPad. It's WAY easy to record. I've just had some challenges when recording myself.

Oh well, this blog is a work in progress. That's why I am attending the BlogHer12 conference this week. Hopefully, I'll learn lots of tips there to take this blog to the next level. I'll keep you posted!

Last week's video post was well received. Perhaps I'll start doing one every week.  Let me know what you think and/or share some tips.  Be mindful, I have a toddler. So, don't make your suggestions too complicated!

Wow, the vlog post came out great! I hear you about things not going as planned. This summer I've been very lax about when we get dressed, have meals, when/if we go out anywhere...come August I go back to work and I'm not looking forward to having to institute a rigid schedule. Fortunately, I'll be working 1/2 time, so we all can ease into the change.

Have a great day!
tweens are not that cooperative either!
cute video!
