Our toddler goes on lots of adventures every week. She visits museums, parks and the Carnegie Library. We send her to these activities so that she has adequate stimulation, is entertained, and learns how to interact with other children. As an only child and first grandchild she runs the risk of getting slightly spoiled...
At 21 months, our motivation is mostly social development. However, it appears that she is learning a great deal of tangible information through these activities too.
I got this picture of her as they were singing "If You're Happy and You Know it". Apparently, the teacher said, "If You're Happy and You Know It 'Wiggle Your Ears'". Our eager little toddler, who is apparently a sponge for knowledge, wiggled her own ears without prompting.

We didn't even know that she could identify her ears! It just goes to show that she is watching and absorbing everything.
NOTE TO SELF: No more bad words or potato chips for dinner...
