A Grandfather’s Love, Demonstrated in Freeze Pops

As the weather starts to break a bit, we make plans for Spring Break, and I book my kids in a variety of Summer camps,  I am reminded that this summer will be different because we won't have my dad to share the summer with,  My dad kept these on the rotation, in every flavor. Not even sure how he gets them now because I think they are the equivalent of "kid crack"--made with artificial coloring, flavoring, and sugar . To my kids though, these freeze pops were love and summer wrapped in a bow. (As an Amazon associate, I am compensated for qualifying purchases.)

A Peek Into the Life of a Blogger Mom: Preparing for My First Blogging Conference (BlogHer12)

Since I enjoy blogging I decided to attend a blogging conference this year. There were so many to choose from. Ultimately I chose the one that I thought would give me the biggest bang for my buck and would be the least disruptive for my family.

Based on that criteria, thanks to my new girl Rachel Blaufeld of http://backngroovemom.com/, I settled on BlogHer12. It had a great agenda. There were workshops about how to market my blog, I prove its look and become a video blogger. Those are all things that I am I interested in. Also, I was able to travel the conference on a direct flight. I vowed not to spend more than one night away from the toddler till she's two and I am keeping that promise. She may not know the difference, but it's important to me.

I was so focused on the conference--what to wear, how to style my hair, who to meet--that I  forgot that even I prepare well, I can't control everything.  However, I was reminded and my family's life was disrupted.

I'm writing this on a plane, which is landing. So, I'm going to have to pause. For now, let's just say that I really appreciated the free drink they gave me on the plane...
