What do you call a mom who has a cold??? Busy and bothered...
Now that I'm a mom I realize that I was a completely ungrateful child and should thank my mom, daily!
Actually I wasn't that bad. However, now that I have a toddler I realize that there is no time to be sick. Sleeping in, laying on the couch all day, and putting off errands are things for the footloose and fancy free. I'll have to wait another 16 years to get those days back!
A Working Mom's Work is Never Done
As a mom I have learned that clothes do not get washed by themselves. Toddlers cannot bathe alone. And groceries do not mysteriously appear in the cupboards.
Today I went to church, went to the butcher, bought lunch and came home. I was absolutely exhausted and questioned why I ran those errands. However, every working mom knows why I did it. If I didn't, I would have to fit the errands in during my jam packed workweek. The thought of that makes me even more tired!
When I left for church, the toddler cried and screamed, "Mommy"! When I arrived back from the errands she was waking up from a nap and wanted nothing more than to play with her mommy. So, play I did! (She's kind of irresistible. Also, when I try to nap around her she hits me in the face and says, "Mommy"! So, it is rather hard to sleep...)
Daddies are great, but they can't replace mommy. It's a fact. (No offense daddies!)
It can seem as if a mommy's job is never done. That's because, it isn't. When you combine your mommy work with a full time job. As they say, there is no rest for the weary. However, right now, the toddler is in her crib and it is 10:30PM. So, I am going to bed.
Sweet dreams and send healing thoughts my way!!! (I'd post a photo, but trust me, you don't want to see me like this!)

I never really took into account that mothers get sick too! I always thought my mother was fine thru anything. I even wondered as a kid if my mother was ever sick, and I would reason to myself "oh she is healthy that's why".
I guess I might as well enjoy lazy weekend days off, sleeping in until 12 noon, and mid-day naps while I still have them.lol
when I get home i'm so exhausted but i'm thankful my husband at least cooks.
