It’s a beautiful Sunday in
Pittsburgh! Why is it beautiful? I just
looked outside and it’s one of the first days in a while that it hasn’t been
snowing. Although Pittsburgh does not have perfect weather, we were spared
Blizzard 2013. I think that we owe it to
ourselves to take advantage of that!
As you may know, I am a huge fan
of the National Aviary. It’s one of Pittsburgh’s treasures. Inside it is a tropical oasis filled with
beautiful plants, flowers and of course, lots of birds. A trip to the National
Aviary is the next best thing to taking a Spring Break.

Since the roads are passable, it’s
a great day to go on a family outing. If you’re looking for something to do,
check out Flamingo Fest at the National Aviary. My daughter and I went yesterday
and it was quite lovely. They had crafts, games and shows all focused on
flamingos. Also, the birds were absolutely beautiful!

The National Aviary is open from
10:00AM-5:00PM. They’re also having snacks between 10 and 1. Check it out!
