A Working Mom's Secret to Success on Valentine's Day: Manage Expectations...

Lady celebrating Valentine's Day at Eddie V's "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance." - Oscar Wilde  Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. The roots of Valentine’s Day roots go back to St. Valentine, a priest in the early Christian Church known for his compassion and commitment to love. He was a defender of faith, hope, and kindness, reminding us that love is not just a feeling—it’s an action. Working Mom Tip: Free Family Fun

Pittsburgh is a great place to raise children. There are numerous parks, festivals and program, especially in the summertime. I just learned that there is a program called "KidsPlay" at  Market Square this summer on Tuesdays from 10:00AM-11:30AM.

KidsPlay will feature fun educational programs and activities complete with crafts and special guests. The activities are designed to enrich and entertain the little ones and are geared toward pre-school aged children and welcome families, caregivers, schools, day cares and camps. One week, children can plant their own tree. The next they can see how cartoons come to life and even touch a real fire truck.

KidsPlay at Market Square: Does anything beat free family fun?

Working moms, send your child down to market square with their caregiver, take a half day and enjoy the festivities yourself, or tell your day care center to bring the kids down. It's free. It's fun. And it's totally Pittsburgh!

The free program series produced by the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP), introduces children to a new and exciting learning experience in one of Downtown's most popular destinations.
