One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Celebrate the Seasons With Traditions

Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. They are especially important for woking moms who spend so much time working to provide for their family that they may miss some of the "traditional" mom things like bake sales, volunteering at the book fair, and a host of actual and seemingly made up holidays.  They are also important for families trying to reinvent themselves in the wake of d...

I was reading "relish" a magazine insert that I received in my recent subscription to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and discovered a recipe that I thought would be up the alley of all of my non-vegetarian working mom friends. It was described as "[a]  ridiculously simple and hearty rice soup" and I agree.

With fall upon us, there is nothing I love better than soup. You won't see this on a commercial, but soup is a great way to maintain your sexy! It's filling and broth based soups are generally low in calories. They can also be a great way to get nourishing food and maintain your figure.

Here's the recipe that I discovered, "Easy Chicken and Rice Soup" by Jill Melton , located at http://relish.com/recipes/easy-chicken-and-rice-soup/#ixzz2gb3PmwAJ

Recipe by Chatón for another ridiculously simple soup.

Hearty Tortilla Chicken Soup
1-Bag frozen white sweet corn
1-Can of kidney beans
1-onion

Minced garlic

Sautee your corn, onions and beans together. Pour your two cans of tortilla soup in a pot and simmer it. Then, slowly add your other ingredients. At the end, you will have a very hearty, very tasty soup. (If you're in love with a carnivore, you can cook a chicken breast and add it to the soup as well.)

To make it a meal, make some Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls.
