Celebrating Black Maternal Health Week #BMHW25

Mom and three kids Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Black Maternal Health Week April 11-17, 2025 I am a Black mom to three wonderful children. I was blessed to have three successful births. While I am an attorney, my third delivery highlighted the potential risks that occur when a physician fails to listen to the birthing person. Initially, I chalked it up to the physician involved and limited it to my personal birthing experience. Then, I learned that I was not special. Love and the Single Working Mom in Pittsburgh (A guest post)

This guest post was written by Allen Sircy for Single Pittsburgh.  Allen contacted me awhile ago and indicated that his service could save single working moms time and help them have more fun.  It goes without saying that working moms are busy.  Indeed, it can zap all of your time and when you’re doing it solo, it can be hard to find time for romance.  Based on my own experience, meeting dateable men can be especially hard in Pittsburgh.  For that reason, I decided to let Allen write a piece to share the service with you.  Here you go!

Please let us know if Single Pittsburgh helps you find love!

Now that school is starting back up and the summer is winding down it's going to be harder to find time to get out on Friday night with the girls. Let's face it, it's fun to get out and have a night out on the town but after working all week and having to get the kids ready for a trip to your parents or the babysitters it's almost more trouble than it's worth.

But what can you do if you want to get out and meet a guy? Online dating is the way to go nowadays. Everyone has a smartphone or a computer and approximately 1/3 of all marriages now are from a dating site.

Match.com has been around since the 90s and is probably the most popular site in the country. There are a lot of singles to choose from but given it's popularity women often find their mailboxes overflowing from men from all over the United States. That's where Single Pittsburgh comes in. SinglePittsburgh.com limits their members to a 70 mile radius of the city. With this feature members won't get messages from guys in New York or Miami.

Three Benefits of Single Pittsburgh for Pittsburgh Moms
  1. Pittsburgh Only:  The site is designed strictly for singles in Pittsburgh.
  2. Compatibility Reports: Single Pittsburgh also offers personality tests and star sign compatibility reports to help you find the match that is right for you.
  3. Cost Effective:  Right now SinglePittsburgh.com is offering free upgraded memberships until September 21st.  There is no catch. They just want to give you a chance to try it out.

Check it out!  There still is time to have a summer romance. What are you waiting for? Someone could be looking for someone just like you!
