Mom and three kids Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. Black Maternal Health Week April 11-17, 2025 I am a Black mom to three wonderful children. I was blessed to have three successful births. While I am an attorney, my third delivery highlighted the potential risks that occur when a physician fails to listen to the birthing person. Initially, I chalked it up to the physician involved and limited it to my personal birthing experience. Then, I learned that I was not special. A Peek Into the Life of a Working Mom: The Weekend

Last weekend we got to have family time. And family time is always good!  We spent our Saturday at  the Pittsburgh Children's Museum. I think they are a great community resource and recommend that parents of small children buy a membership. (This isn't a sponsored post. I'm just a fan!) 


If you follow this blog you know that we have been in the throes of renovation hell working on our new home since April. I swear I didn't sign up for this lengthy project. When we bought the home it was explained to me that we had two weeks of work to do. We can debate why that presentation was made. However, what is not debatable is that the resulting time invested on the renovations has been necessary.


Necessary or not, since Andre is doing all of the work himself (with intermittent help from others) he doesn't have a lot of time to hang out with us as we amuse ourselves doing the activities I come up with to occupy the kids, take the pressure off of me, and wear them out so that they are ready for nap time. And yes, at four years old, my daughter still usually takes a nap and I know that makes me very lucky!
Well last weekend, Andre surprised us at the museum. We were busy learning how things work in the Make Shop and along comes daddy to join the fun. He also joined us for a concert by Three Rivers Ringers in the theater.

It was a rare treat.  Hopefully, it will become less rare as the project comes to a close. I hear that like pregnancy, home renovations don't last forever. Well here's hoping!
