One Secret to a Working Mom Success: Make Family Events More Enjoyable With Friends

Better Together: Why Inviting Another Family Makes Activities More Fun #FamilyFun Sometimes family activities can feel like another item on the to-do list. However, doing those activities with another family makes them more fun! Whether it’s a trip to an amusement park , a visit to the local pool , or trip to a pumpkin patch , including another family can multiply the fun in amazing ways. One of my favorite moms to collaborate with is my friend, Ayana Ledford who's pictured above with her daughter Sahar. We have done all of the things listed as seemingly random examples above and here is how including her and her daughter (and sometimes her son too) has made the events more fun. On the date above, Ayana almost left the venue because parking was a nightmare. That said, she hung in there and we would up having a great time!

A Peek Into the Life of a Working Mom: My Collaboration With Chick-Fil-A (#ChickFilAMom)

Representing Chick-Fil-A
I am a Blogger Ambassador for Chick-Fil-A and have been provided with compensation in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.

There is news. Then there is "I am so honored I want to make a speech worthy of the Oscars" news. I have that kind of news to share today.  Recently, I was asked to be a blogger ambassador for Chick-Fil-A. I was thrilled to be asked, but even more honored after I attended the Chick-Fil-A introductory event for the Pittsburgh Blogger Ambassador Program.

Having lived in North Carolina for a while I grew to love Chick-Fil-A almost as much I as loved my grandmother’s pound cake. Chick-Fil-A delivers a consistent, tasty product. I also believed that I was making a healthier choice than I would have eating other brands of fast food. After listening the presentation by the Chick-Fil-A brand team the other night, I am even more confident that the Chick-Fil-A brand is a healthy choice for me and my family.

Below are some things that I learned from the introductory event.

1.   Chick-Fil-A managers are nice.

Beyond their great products, the company seems to recruit the nicest people on the planet. The Chick-Fil-A purpose is to “glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-Fil-A.” And I witnessed their faithfulness to this purpose firsthand. First, they literally rolled out the red carpet for the bloggers! Second, I had to bring my son with me to the meeting and everyone was incredibly understanding. They were so understanding that at the end, I felt like we were nearly related! The manager from the Waterfront store and my son hung out nearly the entire time we were there.

2.   Chick-Fil-A is a nutritious choice for working moms.

Examples of Chik-Fil-A's Fresh ingredients

Working moms have an interest in feeding their kids nutritious food. First, we care about our kids. Second, our PTO policies don't always lend themselves to allowing us to stay home with our kids when they are sick. Unfortunately, our schedules can also interfere with our ability to cook home cooked meals. For that reason, we need fast food that can supplement our home cooked meals. I am here to say that Chik-Fil-A is an option that meets those needs.

3.  Chik-Fil-A is all about freshness and family.

Chick-Fil-A says that they are all about freshness and family. Well I am a true believer because I drank the lemonade! Their lemonade contains only three ingredients, lemons, sugar and water. there are no preservatives or artificial flavorings. There are actually people who squeeze the lemons in the stores every day. If you have ever made homemade lemonade you understand that is quite a commitment to freshness. A mix would be so much easier!

The company strives to provide healthy craveable that moms can feel comfortable serving their kids. To that end, Chick-Fil-A increasingly using more sustainable ingredients and spend time considering specialized dietary needs like gluten free options. Indeed, Chick-Fil-A leaves nothing to chance in launching a new product. The products go through five stages of development: 1) Understand 2) Imagine 3) Prototype 4) Validate and 5) Launch. They don’t rush any stage of the process. Indeed the spicy chicken sandwich took two year to develop.

Given their attention to detail, I am very honored to be their blog ambassador. I look forward to sharing with you other things that I learn about Chick-Fil-A as I continue to develop this relationship.

Stay tuned!!!
