A Working Mom's Secret to Success on Valentine's Day: Manage Expectations...

Lady celebrating Valentine's Day at Eddie V's "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance." - Oscar Wilde  Greetings from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Things have been busy. I am still a working mom of three, working full time who is trying to make a difference. I do a lot of things and try to be present so that I can learn from them. I share them on this blog so that we can learn together. Below are some thoughts, hacks, and/or lessons that I have learned from navigating my world. The roots of Valentine’s Day roots go back to St. Valentine, a priest in the early Christian Church known for his compassion and commitment to love. He was a defender of faith, hope, and kindness, reminding us that love is not just a feeling—it’s an action. And, this year I have learned that being free on Valentine's Day is better than living a lie. Valentine's Day, like Christmas, comes every year. And fortunately for all of us, it is finally here.

The Magic of Disney Is in Pittsburgh, Check it Out

Family At Frozen on Ice

My family and I were fortunate enough to attend the show as guests of a PR company. So, we were able to experience the magic firsthand. We learned that not only do patrons get transported to the fictional town of Arendelle to experience the fearless adventure that Anna takes to save her sister. We also learned that regardless of the closeness of the seats, every patron feels like he/she is a part of the show.

I have to say that my kids think that I am a total rock star for getting the tickets. That makes me happy since I live  to make her smile! (My son loved the show, but wasn't that keen about his hat! :-))

The other amazing thing, as the above photo indicates, is that Frozen on Ice is a veritable Disney party and reunion. So many characters join the opening scene and the finale that everybody gets to see their Disney favorites. And if you're focused, you can get enough photos to fill an album. Shutterfly has an offer to help you preserve your memories. They are giving away a free photo book to everyone who buys a souvenir.

So, do yourself a favor book your tickets. Take in the show. And make your kids smile. You can thank me later! Don't worry, there is still time to catch the shows on the 4th and 5th. To purchase tickets, click here.
